“Can you not at least Remember?!?”
I unashamedly believe (and am pursuing) that God and HIS Power is meant to be manifested right now… not just on the pages of the Bible, or in the four walls of some church, but for every day, Walmart-shopping, hamburger-eating, dog-loving normal folks Monday thru Saturday (and even on Sunday) in our families, in our health, in our kids, in our businesses, in our schools, in our communities, etc… in other words: I know God’s Power and His manifested Glory is for the “grubby-here-and-now” not just in the “Sweet bye-and-bye”.… I just want to see it manifested and don’t care who HE uses – I just want “to be in the room.”
I am coming out of a season in business where I could not “hear” HIS strategies on somethings despite knowing HE has promised to give me wisdom as I ask and pray. Despite prayer and fasting, all I heard for two months was two things: Jack and Squat.
Then I read Mark chapter 8, and something broke through… Let me set the scene. Jesus had already miraculously fed 5000 people on one occasion, and then just fed another 4000 people – and each time with nothing more than a “Long John Silver’s 2 fish snack meal”. WHATZ UP GOD?!?. Jesus also used HIS disciples as an extension of HIS hands in all of this, tangibly showing them that NOTHING is impossible for God. Immediately after this miracle with the 4000 hungry folks, these same disciples were now in a boat when they realized they had brought only one loaf of bread, and were already sliding back into fear and unbelief that they would not have enough provision (Ouch!! So familiar).
Now let’s look at Mark 8:17-18: “Knowing what they were thinking, Jesus said to them, ‘Why all this fussing over forgetting to bring bread? Do you still not see or understand what I say to you? Are your hearts still hard? You have good eyes, yet you still don’t see, and you have good ears, yet you still don’t hear, neither do you remember.”
Let me paraphrase in the “Big Crayon Translation”: “Drew, are you truly this dumb?!? Can you not see? Can you not hear? Can you at least remember?
See, we all go thru seasons when we can not see “God’s hand or next step” despite Him promising us in the Word to guide and lead and to be a lamp unto our feet. We all go thru seasons were we can’t hear His voice despite the promise that as His sheep, we do hear His voice. But we can all remember what He has done… in fact, as I take deliberate time to “remember” Testimonies of my own life and those of the Word, faith begins to rise up… He also reminded me that the word “TESTIMONY” in Hebrew (and Greek) actually means “To repeat a thing; to do a thing again”. This means that as we Intentionally remember HIS goodness and HIS Testimonies, we are actually partnering with HIS own power to repeat a thing again. Moreover, I witnessed first hand that as I remember His Testimonies, my hearing of His Voice has improved, as has my sight of His desired path.
So, my focus will remain on Testimonies and intentionally remembering them. More next month, but I encourage you to start today where you are at… remember the Goodness of the Lord. Till next month.

Oh my God, literally I wish I could scream my most recent testimony from the top of the tallest building with a bullhorn. I will absolutely share it tomorrow morning. I get it -- and I do repeat and repeat the good, the bad, and the ugly of my "wait". What is most helpful is that I can remember like it was five minutes ago when I surrendered the problem and smiled -- a real smile. Oh hallelujah, I can feel the biggest sense of peace and joy and I reflect on that moment right now. I hope I can make it through it without a translator (for the ugly cry voice). My family and my closest friends have heard it over and over...I need to share with others. Hopefully it will be a major blessing.
